Jazz

0.00

We have had Jazzy since he was around 9-10 weeks old and he settled in within a month.

He is a loving cat who is happy to sleep most of the day and curl up on your lap.  At the moment he is suffering with anxiety and is taking a medication called Hypovase twice daily, he is also having a spot on treatment called Calming Spot On by beaphar.

He is happy to see familiar people and will usually approach them and rub himself against their legs and want to be stroked.  He will run away and hide from children, unfamiliar  adults and loud noises (fireworks, hoover, drilling and any other loud noise).

He is on a special diet to keep his weight down SPECIFIC FCD - Feline Crystal Prevention Light after having a urinary blockage.

Jazzy uses the catflap and is usually an outdoor cat for toileting, but at the moment we have a litter tray so that if needs to use it he can, he is only using it to urinate.

You will usually find him lounging around the house and if he does go out he never goes much further than the garden or the drive.

The vet thinks he has experienced a trauma and suffering from anxiety which is why he has been prescribed the Hypovase medication however, if he is placed in a calming environment and settled she believes he will no longer need the medication.

It has been very difficult to help him feel calm and settled as we have another younger cat and a small energetic dog, we have tried our best to keep them separated to created a calmer environment for Jazzy, but he looks sad, withdrawn and isolated.

It was our Vet that recommended rehoming him which is heartbreaking but we know it is best for him. We just want him to be happy.
